According to Daniel Andrade, president of Bond&Fill, LLC, ”We’ve catered to Crab Alley Custom Boats out of Chester, Maryland for about five years. They were one of the first to use PVC and our Bond&Fill Adhesive in the custom construction of their bay skiffs instead of the traditional wood and wood adhesive.  Their boats won’t sink, burn or rot because the materials are superior to wood.  As more folks within the boat market have begun to use PVC materials instead of wood, the boat market is quickly becoming more of a niche for us.”

Crab Alley Custom Boats and their use of “modern touches” such as PVC and Bond&Fill Sealant was featured in the popular Soundings Magazine last month.

Bond&Fill adhesives and sealants continue to be the highest performance products available today for cellular PVC fabrication.  In particular, Bond&Fill Structural is a superior nail hole and seam filler with the shear strength of 3,214 PSI giving it much greater strength than traditional PVC cement.

The company’s precise formulations are the result of years of development and testing.  Bond&Fill, LLC guarantees reliable and consistent cure rates, color, viscosity, and structural performance.

“We’ve earned a great reputation because our Bond&Fill line of PVC adhesives and sealants are of the highest quality and the most reliable.  When you’re out on the ocean in any size craft, it’s imperative that the materials used in the craft are NOT going to compromise,” noted Andrade.

Environmentally friendly homes are defined as having little impact on the planet during the planning, construction, and life of the home. This includes the energy required to manufacture and transport materials to the construction site. According to one study, our homes account for over 40% of carbon dioxide emissions, which is why it’s imperative that we all work to build more sustainable and earth-friendly residences.

Classic log homes are one type of property that has a much smaller carbon footprint than traditionally-built houses. One reason that log homes are an excellent choice for environmentally aware buyers is the fact that log homes are made out of a naturally renewable resource. If we require loggers to use responsible logging methods such as re-planting where they cut, then we will have a steady reserve of logs for the future, without damaging the environment.

Another benefit is that in many areas of the country, logs can be locally harvested unlike steel or concrete, which require transport. Delivering materials around the country can be very expensive, emits a high amount of carbon dioxide into the air, and uses up a great deal of oil and gas. By shopping locally, you can reduce the impact your home has on the environment -during all its stages of building.

Another benefit to wood structures is that unlike common building materials, log homes do not require manufacturing or substantial processing, which involves chemicals and energy expenditure. The chemicals that go into making popular building materials are emitted in your home, which can pose a serious health risk for your family. These volatile organic compounds, or VOC’s are breathed into our lungs and can get into our bloodstream. Studies are still being done to examine the long term effects of being surrounded by these toxins, but it’s a good idea to avoid them at all costs.

In addition to be a non-toxic choice, log homes are also an extremely energy efficient alternative to other building materials. Owners of log cabins have long known the benefits of these types of structures in terms of how cozy there are in the wintertime and cool in the summertime. Wood has a natural ability to absorb heat and then release it, which is what enables cabins to stay comfortable all year long.

Log homes are also biodegradable and recyclable -far more so than other building materials. Log cabins can be torn down, and the logs used for other structures. These logs have a long life cycle, as they can be reborn with each new project. And when the log is past its usefulness, it easily bio degrades back into the earth.

By being mindful of what we use to build our homes, we can have a huge impact on improving the health of this planet. In addition, we can lower our energy costs and reduce the amount of indoor toxins that our families breathe in. If we’re conscious of the choices we make and look into better alternatives like the log home, we’ll all benefit in the long run.

Green home building and remodeling requires a different approach than the traditional, established way of building.

Traditionally the homeowner, you, approaches an architect who designs the home, based on your descriptions, ideas, dreams and wishes.

The finished design is then distributed to several general contractors for bid.

The general contractor in turn contacts his/her subcontractors to get bids from them for framing, roofing, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, excavating and foundation work, landscaping, interior finishes.

The bid prices are based on the interpretation of the drawings by each contractor. Rarely do the subcontractors talk to each other during the bid process. Rarely is the architect contacted with questions. Almost never is the homeowner, you, contacted.

The contractorrs’ final bids usually include a list of exceptions and/or a contingency allowance, which might never be used, but is paid for by you anyway.

Homeowners most often accept the lowest bid. Why not? Unless you are familiar with and know the construction business, know the contractor’s quality of work, what other criteria could you apply?

The procedure outlined above often results in considerable construction cost increases, dissatisfied homeowners and sometimes lawsuits.

Huge resources are being neglected and missed when homes are remodeled and built the traditional way: Experience and trade-specific expertise, which could save you time, money and headaches.

The Green Process To Building A Home

Building a green home must be a systematic approach and done as a team. The project must be looked at as a system, in which each component is connected to and depends on the other components. For example:

- Location of the home on the property will determine the amount of soil disturbance, excavation and landscaping

- Location, size and types of windows will impact the heating and cooling requirement

- Type of heating and cooling equipment will impact space requirements for furnace, heat pump, solar collectors, piping, ductwork, etc

- Choice of exterior wall will impact first cost versus installation cost versus insulation values versus appearance

You get the idea

Teamwork is required to make it all come together. The folks who design and build your green home, will be working with you and with each other for weeks or months. These are some important questions to ask when assembling your green building team:

- Do all of the team members agree on the importance of building green and are they committed to it?

- Do architect and contractors have experience in green building and if not, are they willing to learn? The majority if the team should have some experience in designing or building green homes

- Do you like and respect them? Can you see yourself interacting with each of them frequently and maybe work through some challenges?

- Do they like and respect each other?

- Do they take pride in high quality work?

- Can they accept input about their trade from other trades?

Don’t underestimate the importance of your team getting along and working well together. There will be times during the construction when tempers flare, tensions are high, pressure is on. And this could be just when the insulator has to do some very meticulous work to seal all leaks, while the electrician is breathing down her neck to hurry up so he can get his work done.

It is important to include as many of the trades as possible during the design phase. Decisions about choices in materials or heating system can then be done by all involved parties from a fully informed perspective. For example:

Someone mentioned to you the advantages of using structurally insulated panels (SIP), and that is what you would like to use for your green home. Preliminary investigations show that these panels would have to be shipped from hundreds of miles away. The general contractor suggests using insulated concrete forms (ICF). The factory is only 50 miles away, his team is very experienced with this system and he knows that he can do it cheaper than with SIP. The architect supports this idea, because she also knows that homeowner insurance rates are sometimes lower for homes built with ICFs, due to their resistance to termites, wind and fire.

OR

General contractor, architect and HVAC contractor work closely together to determine if your green home should use solar collectors or a geothermal heat pump system for hot water and heat. They contact the wood truss manufacturer to help determine the impact of the heavy solar collectors on the roof frame. A call to the local geothermal heat pump specialists reveals that your future neighbors down the street installed a geothermal heat pump system two years ago and are very satisfied with it. With all this information, you can now make an informed decision.

When the time comes to put the final cost for your green home construction project together, you can be assured that unexpected costs will be minimal. You will know that you and your green building team are all pulling in the same direction.

Addressing and optimizing key factors up front with the whole team will result in a smoother construction process, lower costs and a much better green home for you and your family.

“Nothing beats the feeling of being at home. And every one would do everything just to experience that kind of feeling, and every one is also striving hard to have a quality home for them and their family. To achieve this, one must have this home construction, like what they do in Windsor, remodeling is considered a must.

Saying this, achieving a good home is not always as simple as what we think. We must plan for it in details so that we could attain the best results. And I see another problem here. Oftentimes, when we hear the phrase ‘best results’ we cannot deny the fact that accompanying it is the word ‘expensive’. And I can’t blame you for that kind of thinking.

But still, we can do something about it.

People at first live in caves; then make tree houses, until they learn to construct temporary shelters, and come to this era when they discover to build permanent abodes. This will protect them against rain, heat of the sun, wind and other weather disturbances. They keep on improving their shelter to cope with their needs for protection. And here we are now. In the time of building up fantastic and strongly built houses where we find comfort and convenience that we can share with our family. Isn’t that what we all hoping for?

Like what they do in Fort Collins, home remodeling there is of quality home construction but not extremely expensive. Just right for your money’s worth. And you will definitely see the positive changes made in your abode.

You can also suggest changes whatever you wish for the betterment of your place. There are these Loveland home additions that you can choose from. From your kitchen to your bathroom, anything that is in line with customizing your home. Just name it and let these people in home construction in Fort Collins do the workload!

While we are thinking of home construction etc., we should also keep in mind that there will come a time that these things will come to the test of time. We will need to have some home remodeling repairs. Again, I cite an example, like in Loveland, home remodeling there is considered a necessity. It is still for the convenience of you and your family. Don’t sacrifice your safety thinking that these things are just a waste of money, time and effort. Nothing is a waste when it comes to the security of your family.

So now, are you thinking? Think of the convenience that it could bring. Don’t just think the money matters and everything that you think will bring you hassle or anything. Sometimes we need to have extra effort for the benefit of everyone. And you will see, these efforts will not put into waste. The results may take some time, but it is you who will benefit from it.

Thanks to these people in home remodeling. We can now enjoy the ambience of home. And we are continuing to have the benefit of it. “

Home manufacturers all over the world have recently started weighing different home building options  to ensure that the growing demand for affordable panelized homes are met with a considerable decrease in the home construction costs.

It required several years of research, engineering, testing, design & patent work to finally come out with efficient modular wall panel systems technology which has taken the modular home business to greater heights. Modular wall panel systems are generally prepared in the controlled environment of factory from a combination of the most commonly used & inexpensive building materials such as cement, sand, paper, plastic, fiber cement, phenolic resins and adhesive, plus different insulation materials that make it more energy efficient.

All the above materials are blended together in an exclusive way to produce high-strength, cost-effective & durable modular wall panels for use in the structural wall building purpose. Features like quality, durability, flexibility, technical performance, cost, craftsmanship & ease of assembly make modular wall panel systems a better alternative for home owners when it comes to build low-cost panelized homes. In contrast to conventional construction techniques or standard stick build homes, modular wall panel systems based panelized homes can cut short your home construction expenses & help you save money considerably.

The homebuilding industry is registering a smooth rise in production of modular wall panel systems these days due to its wide scale application in domestic as well as commercial home building market. Home builders as well as home owners are increasingly opting for modular wall panel homes due to its huge potential in building affordable panelized homes with less turnaround time. Besides these, modular wall structures have several other characteristic features which make it a preferred choice for modular home construction.

Advantages of Modular Wall Panel Systems Homes:-

Easy to Assemble & Construct: – With ready to use modular wall panel systems, integration of different home building structures never becomes a problem & makes home construction easy. Cost-Effectiveness: – The installation of Modular wall panel systems does not involve more man power as required in traditional construction techniques or standard stick build homes & therefore automatically brings down the residential labor cost to a certain extent. Quick to Apply Finishing Touches: – Modular wall panels usually have nail & screw base on its rigid & sturdy fiber cement surface to make your job of applying interior & exterior finishing materials easy & fast. Pre-cut Electrical Wiring Cabinets: – The outer wall electrical wiring can be easily done with pre cut electrical wiring cabinets present on modular wall panel systems. High Strength: – Modular wall panels built under the controlled environment of factory stand at a better advantage of resisting environmental factors like wind, rain, earthquake & other such risks as compared to traditionally built homes or standard stick build homes. Superior Quality: – The traditional home construction techniques come no closer to modular wall panel systems which produce superior quality & elegant looking straight wall panels at low cost.

The use of modular wall panel systems is not restricted in modular home construction only & slowly spreading to other areas such as mining, roads & construction, domestic & commercial building sectors as well as general industrial & in and around factories.

Design is the most important aspect when you want to give a new look to your home. Since it is used so frequently and for such long times, the first characteristic for a home design should be durability and stability.

A good home design is all made of such diverse materials including glass. There’s no doubt that designing your home need a good and perfect set of furniture that is exceedingly beautiful and durable. Fort Bend County, home to Sugar Land, considered one of the best places to live in America, is growing at a fast rate. New home construction in this county is keeping pace with the influx of population who are drawn to the community by plentiful jobs, beautiful weather and low prices. In the first six months of 2007 alone, 350 new home sites opened in top gated communities. In Fort Bend County, looks like it will only get better in the coming years.

The phenomenal growth here is no accident. The community has worked hard for its accolades as one of the best places to live in. This was long before “planned communities” was a trendy catchphrase, city planners and community developers were putting the concept into practice. The result is acres upon acres of beautifully structured communities that are designed to provide the ultimate in convenience and luxury for their residents without impinging on the beauty of the environment.

In fact, the area is home to many Houston gated communities. Included are developments that are built around man-made and natural lakes, golf courses, water parks and other amenities that combine for an unparalleled lifestyle for prospective residents in top gated communities. In Fort Bend County, luxurious custom homes in safe and secure neighborhoods are the standard for this area, and this area has a wealth of them. New home builders built some of the best and most prestigious top gated communities.

As Houston continues to grow, builders are meeting the demand for new homes with the usual Texas style – bigger and better. Community developers look to more than land use when designing the top gated communities. They take into account the natural features of the land, and work with neighboring communities to provide all the amenities necessary for an incomparable standard of living. Shopping, entertainment, culture, art – are all within easy distance of every home in each community. That’s the beauty of working with a master plan.

New home developments include plans for roads and transportation issues. Many of the new gated communities here include “centerpiece” amenities like man-made lakes with docks, piers and country clubs, or water parks and other leisure amenities. There are new homes built with easy access to top golf greens and golf courses for those who enjoy a golfing lifestyle, as well as communities that offer full recreational facilities for families.

New home construction in and around the area isn’t limited to custom luxury homes at the top. Gated communities in Fort Bend County feature a fine mix of single family homes and town homes, including custom built luxury houses and production homes with all the features and amenities needed for a comfortable, active lifestyle. In addition to the new home construction that is already under way in and around Fort Bend, there are plans and resources for nearly 20,000 more in the next ten years.

With new industries and businesses moving here in record numbers, those homes will be sorely needed. While the rest of the country is watching real estate sit on the market for months on end, real estate market here is hopping, with the homes for sale maintaining and increasing in value as the community continues to grow.

Because modular homes are built in part in the factory setting, and because components of the building process are split between your builder and the manufacturer, the timeline for modular homes can be a little different than site-built homes. In an effort to help you anticipate what to expect, a typical schedule of events will be described to help you through the process. These can be divided into 4 phases: the homework phase, the planning phase, the construction phase, and the finishing phase. All in all the entire process takes about 10 months for a modular home from start to finish.

The Homework Phase (Average time 2-4 weeks) This is all about you. During this time, you decide four major things. These include what you can afford, what you want, where you want to live, and who is going to manufacture and build your home. Most of us do a lot of this intuitively, but taking this seriously has its benefits. Meet with a banker or lender to figure out what your real budget is for a home. Sample several design varieties and narrow down what style best meets your needs as well as what are essentials and what are wishful items. Locate the area of the community you wish to live in and survey the prices in the area. Lastly, research your builder. Checking with the Better Business Bureau, Home Builder’s Association and other local agencies are helpful, but so is speaking with friends and neighbors about their experience. Make sure your builder has modular home experience and ask to speak with references.

The Planning Phase (Average time 4-8 weeks) In this phase, you select your builder and begin to select the actual design you want and with which modular home manufacturer. If needed, an architect can assist with the design and plans. This part is necessary before you can actually estimate costs of construction and secure your financing. The financing is based on costs of construction and the size of the dwelling. Once financing is secure, and designs and plans are finished, you are now ready for the actual construction.

The Construction Phase (Average time 8 weeks) With approved architectural plans and secured financing, the project now splits into two. The modular home manufacturer begins construction of your home modules, and your builder obtains all necessary building and utility permits. Once the permits are obtained, site preparation work begins with excavation, grading and foundation formation. Also it is the builder responsibility to arrange subcontractors to be available for the finishing portion of your home, as well as making sure a set crew and crane operator is scheduled. Compared to site-built, this phase for modular home construction saves tremendous time as things are happening simultaneously that normally would happen in tandem.

The Finishing Phase (Average time 12 weeks) The set crew and crane operator along with your builder greet your modular home and set it onto the foundation. Now the final work of “buttoning up” and “tying in” begins. The home is 85 percent complete on arrival, but electrical and plumbing connections, HVAC connections, landscaping, some trim and painting, etc. make the final touches to your home. If the foundation is done well, and subcontractors are arranged, this process goes smoothly, and you are ready for your final inspections and certificate of occupancy within 120 days.

As you can see, the process is around 10 months in total. Sometimes this is faster, sometime slower, but all in all it is half the time compared to site-built construction. It should be stressed that effort in the homework phase can be the most valuable as this will help all the other phases move smoothly.

Have you experienced working in Montgomery Construction Company? How about in a Bucks construction company? Well, this ontgomery home construction task is kind of difficult to do. But as a proud daughter, it’s a pride for Emily to tell the world that her father is a contractor in a construction company in Montgomery.

This Pennsylvania Construction Company is a really a huge home builder in town. And Emily, who’s a 3rd grader pupil, knows already what the game is.

Ever since, she was very proud of her father. Probably because she have no mother at all. They said that her mother passed away after giving birth to her. Even though, she still raised well by her father, alone. That is why she was very proud of him.

And her father also loves her very much.

Emily is a pretty young girl, looks very much like her mother, a direct resemblance of her.

As a little girl, we have our own dreams and wishes. Maybe some want to be a princess, just like Princess Jasmine and meet our Aladdin. Some want to be an educator and teach lessons to students. There are those who dreams of being a loving mother. But that never came to the mind of Emily. Because she really admires her father, she also wants to work in a construction company!

Weird? Nah, it is still possible…in time.

Emily always watches her father work. After school, she directly goes to her father’s construction site. Although kind of dangerous, she wanted to see how her father performs his task.

She keenly observes how her father manually mixes sand and cement. How they elevate the mixed cement using pulley to transfer it to a higher area (since the building was up to the twentieth floor). You can barely see the amazement in the little girl’s eyes.

It’s late afternoon when her father’s work was done. They got home together. Her father always carries Emily in his broad shoulders. This was their daily routine. And they never got fed up to it.

Before directly going home, Emily’s father will buy what they will eat for dinner. They always drop by a nearby store that sells noodles and hamburgers. The spicy noodle is Emily’s favorite. So her father indulges her. They will now proceed to home and will eat together.

Emily saw the wrinkled and fatigued hands and arms of her father. She took it and kissed it. And her father smiled at her.

“I want to be like you father.”

“To be strong like me?”

“Not just strong. I also want to work in a construction company. I also want to build houses and buildings with my hands.”

“But that is not a work fitted for girls”. Replied her father. “

“You should seek your own destiny. You’re a pretty girl. So you should treat it as an advantage. I don’t want to see that you are over fatigue, and tired. That’s why I work hard to send you to school. All you have to do is study hard in school for you to make your dreams come true.””
